Default wheel cleaner bad for clear?

is wheel cleaner bad for clear coat on rims? i saw this on another website and wondering if it was true. thanks!

Would depend entirely on the type of 'wheel cleaner' you're dealing with... there are some out there on the market that will discolor and stain damn near anything if you're not careful and others that are pretty much safe on any surface.

Our Green Wheel Cleaner for example is effective at releasing brake dust and can be used on any wheel type as long as the surface is cool to the touch and the chemical isn't allowed to dry on the finish.

So I guess your answer is "IT DEPENDS"

Adam's GWC is a go for clear coated wheels...mine are and i use it all the time on them...like Dylan said, don't let them dry on the wheels

So long as you use a wheel cleaner (on cool wheels) that is pH balanced and non-acidic, you will be A-OK.

cool im using the armor all triple action and i dont let it dry on and i dont let it go on a hot wheel. is that safe?

i don't know if armor all is PH balanced or not. If not, they will harm your wheels.
