I used a Mr.Clean Magic Eraser along with a spray bottle of water last week after having the same problem with NXT Tech Wax on my 2005 as you and it worked out great just try to keep the eraser off the paint and have a mf cloth nearby to wipe off excess water. While I was a the store I also picked up a bottle of Mothers FX SynWax that does not stain the trim like NXT so I dont have to deal with this next time I wax .

Eraser and Pnut butter would be just fine! Detailers have been using P.B. for sometime, and its not joke, it works.
