Default Cleaning wax off trim

What is the best way to clean wax/sealant off the black trim? (i.e. wiper fluid sprayers, window trim, etc)

I put Maguier's NXT sealant on last weekend and it looks great, I just need to clean it off all the black parts and it'll look perfect.

I swear next time I'm going to mask those parts off with tape!

May sound odd but take a very soft toothbrush or towel and work some creamy peanut butter into the effected area and then wipe off. Again it sounds odd but it works.

There is a company that makes something called "back to black" I think it's mothers. Thats what it's made for.

As far I know and have experienced with Back To Black it is just a cover up, a temporary dressing but it will not remove the wax residue.

dont put peanut butter on your trim pieces. use back to black. use common sense. you can take a microfiber towel and some soapy water and clean off the trim, alcohol will remove any wax- so will goo gone- but the nxt generation wax isnt a thick wax and isnt bad to "cover up"

Nothing wrong with peanut butter on your trim, in fact it works better than Back To Black. Again Back To Black is a cover up dressing.

Now if you feel more comfy with a Professional product designed to be used specifically for this task them buy some of this cleaner. http://www.topoftheline.com/trim-cleaner.html

It's all I use for cleaning trim and embedded wax. Many times there is no need to dress your trim after it is properly cleaned.

Wow, thanks for all the advice.

Just FYI, most of the extra NXT paste came off with water and a medium detail brush (about the size of a tooth brush but natural fibers). That includes the wiper sprayer, door/window trim, text on the turn signal and brake light lenses, etc. In other words, elbow grease worked just fine.

I chose not to use Back-to-Black since the car is brand new and from looking at the product at the store, it is just a cover-up... like Grecian Formula for you car.

I still say next time I have to put the sealant on, its much easier to just mask those part off.

Wow - peanut butter [&:] Can't believe nobody else has hit on it - WD40 is the bomb!! Spray it on a terry cloth, use you finger tip and rub all over the plastic part. Removes the residue and leaves nice black finish! Then from there you can apply some amorall if you're into that shiney wet look.
