Default 5.0 Spring Cleaning

Hey guys this coming weekend I'm going to do my annual deep cleaning of my 93 gt, but I have a few questions before I get into it.

First I wash the car with Armor All Ultra Concentrate and clean the exterior including wheels. Then I usually spend alot of time using Turtle Wax Polishing Compound to clean the entire exterior. It's a real big pain to use this stuff, but it's cheap and it looks good after. I've read some people strongly suggesting against using polishing compounds on the entire car, but the Turtle Wax compound is a really mild one.

My questions are:

-Should I WAX after I use the turtle wax polishing compound?
-Also what is the optimal material for waxing/polishing your car? Should I use a different cloth to apply as well as remove the wax/pc? I usually just use an old t-shirt
-Would you recommend a clay bar instead of the turtle wax pc? Would it be easier or have similar results?

Thanks for the help guiz.

i dont understand, you want to double wax your car? also, you should invest in some sort of microfiber cloths for car cleaning, they are the best

The Turtle Wax polishing compound is not wax. From what I've read you should wax to protect after you've used the polishing compound to remove oxidation. I think I'm gunna try that buttersmooth stuff I keep seeing ads for.

Yeah I have a few microfiber towels layin around someplace I think they're all dirty though... Might try to wash them or pick up some new ones if they aren't clean enough after.

As far as the Armor All Butter Smooth stuff, I haven't really seen any really good reviews online for it yet... I assume it's pretty similar to any liquid wax. Right now I'm leaning towards Turtle Wax spray detailer for after I've used the polishing compound. The only thing I'm concerned about is the longevity of the TW Ice. Truthfully I probably won't feel like going over my car again using a paste sealant-wax after I've just used the polishing compound on the entire thing, so I'll probably just put on a coat or 2 of the TW Ice and see how that holds up.

I'm pretty pumped about doin this tomorrow. My car has been dirty for too long. Curse you winter! CURSE YOU! (It doesn't help that I DD it either. )

I clay my car in the spring and fall. Then use a good hard polish to seal it. Ok guys, slap me down but I really like using Nu Finish. Easy to use and lasts a long time. THats my 2 cents, now slap away...lol

Ps. I get my microfiber from a dollar store up here.....5 towels for $1

I ended up using the Turtle Wax Polishing Compound and then finished with Turtle Wax Hard Shell. Looks great. If I had a camera I would take a picture heh. I might this friday when I wash it again to go to Cruise Weekend-OC MD.

I recommend the Turtle Wax Polishing Compound, because it's very mild and will not damage your paint. It's a pain to take off, so do it in small portions.
