Few years back, my Dad got a new F-150. Six months later, sent it out to a detail shop. Ordered a full detail. Everything fine. Three weeks later the color goes flat on the dash. Then it turns a different color. He can't figure it out.

Takes it back to the dealer, dealer says, "Have you recently had it detailed? They probably used Armor All on that dash. If they did, we won't cover it. Armor All has silicones in it that magnify the sun's rays and causes unpredictable results. Ford has a disclaimer if you use that stuff."

Dad called the detailer, sure enough, he squirts gallons of the stuff on cars.

Think he went to 303 Protectant after he had to replace a few dashes.

Don't know how they can sell it as a "Protectant" if it actually harms auto plastic and rubber. Think the only place I'd use it is on my tires sidewalls.

Not good. I'll stay away from it.

Anyone know if F21 is in the same boat? I use that inside & out with great results so far, though probably not as long lasting as mothers.

look on the lable and if it says "silicone" stay away from it. It dries out vinyl and plastic and cracks it over time. "Mothers" has silicone btw.

I use ONLY 303 on my dash, but on my shaker and front spoiler on the Mach I use Armorall (says New Formula on the bottle) and it keeps it dark black, even going several weeks and through several rainstorms.

Bottom line if you are buying from scratch there are better products, but if you have some of the new formula stuff lying around it might work for you.

I have always heard armor all is bad. But back in the day thats all people used. Unique whips uses it. A friend of mine uses armor all leather conditioner and it looks great for a 10yrgrowl old car. But the plastic trim around the radio is faded but the dash is good. Why use an iffy product when there are better ones to use.
