DYNO's say they don't flow, the TRACKS say they don't flow. A baffled muffler does NOT COMPARE to a STRAIGHT THROUGH DESIGN MUFFLER. </P>


You may buy a muffler for sound, but for the performance wanting modifiers, they want PERFORMANCE, that renders Flowmaster out of the equation. </P>

 

and what type of exhaust do you have? and your knowledge of flowmasters is incorrect. theyre not baffled mufflers theyre chambered mufflers. baffled mufflers are like supertubros and a straight thru mufflers are bullets and glasspacks and etc.

it turns out todays mufflers are all good. if you want to squeeze out every last drop of power, there are a few standouts. but all mufflers are so close you really cant go wrong. just find a pair that sounds good to bolt'em on. better yet all the mufflers handily outperformed an open exhaust.

and if you think flowmaster sucks well that is your opinion but i wouldnt trust your judgement if you dont know the difference between a chamber muffler and a baffled muffler.

 

The soud of a system is completly subjective so for some one to saw they sound like *** is really moot since it is merely their opinion and everyone has one of those. </P>


Performance is objective and there is a lot of evidence against the flows, just like Dan said.</P>

I have the stainless steel cat-back exhaust system offered by Magnaflow. My knowledge of Flowmasters, is correct.

My statements about Flowmaster aren't opinions. They are cold hard facts that millions of people have researched, not only that, it is COMMON SENSE that a 'chambered' &amp; BAFFLED muffler will not come anywhere NEAR the flow capabilities of a straight through design muffler. Your information is inaccurate and your knowledge is not as deep as you try passing it by as. Don't mis-inform members. </P>

 

your statements at first were saying flowmasters are baffled mufflers. and you show want about flowmasters? that how theyre made up of. read it and understand what they said. and the post of the magnaflow doesnt show info on it. it just shows that what it is made up of. i dont care if one flows alittle more than the other. point is most aftermarket mufflers show good results. and the difference between them isnt going to make a difference.

if you have a car with magnaflows and a mirror image of the samecar with flowmasters the little diff. in power isnt going ot make a difference. 3 or 5 hp isnt that much more power really. you buy what you want for sound. since they all flow decent amounts.

and anyone can copy and paste info on s**t.
and this was about mac chambers which are the same as flowmasters in the neighborhood of being chamber mufflers. but not in performance. but ppl by muffler on sound!!!!!!!

IT IS SELF EXPLANITORY. STRAIGHT THROUGH DESIGN. There is NOTHING in the WAY from the front of the muffler to the EXIT of the muffler. All straight through mufflers are virtually the same as this.</P>


There is no WAY in hell a 'chambered' &amp; 'baffled' muffler is going to flow anywhere NEAR what a straight through can. </P>


Now that I've proved you wrong, just by posting pictures &amp; facts along with my comments your saying 'anyone can copy and paste info on s**t' and now 'this was about mac chambers'. Looks like someone is trying to get alittle off subject now? </P>


I'm sorry you were wrong, I went and got the facts and put them up here for everyone to see. I bought Magnaflow because of it's superior performance &amp; amazing sound. NOT EVERYONE buys mufflers just for SOUND, some of us car owners prefer performance over sound. And it's definetly not a 3-5hp different. </P>


You can take a Magnaflow h/x-pipe and pair it up with the mufflers and you can expect 20+ horsepower from that alone. Anyone who bolts a Flowmaster muffler on their exhaust system is giving up significant ponies if they have an aftermarket h/x-pipe, not '3-5' ponies, it's well above 10HP that they are sacrificing. well go look into an old issue of 5.0mustang [dec.02] on pages 49 -56. and on page55 they have the comparisons of the mufflers and they show that the difference betweeen the two is only a few hp.

 

on what? a stock motor and only changing the muffler itself?
