window tint in NY?

window tint in NY?
70% tint is the legal limit in NY. I've heard running down to 50% is "safe"...in other words you are unlikely to be hassled for 50% tint. Anybody in NY (or PA...I think they have the same requirement) have any first hand experience with tint problems? Thanks.
