Cool thank you, the car looks great! In the sun it does still stay dark right? I mean well since it is cloudy the tints do tend to look darker. Yeah that 5% is really dark, cant see anything in there i bet it looks really good. Do you put your windows down to see at night when making turns to see if any pedestrian are crossing because its too dark?

Thanks again for the pics it really helps, hope you get it fixed but over all it looks good i like it.

He promised he would fix it. We agreed to wait until warmer weather so the sun can really do its magic. I am going to fork out the extra 50 to get the dotted matrix done in vinyl. I'm sure he will fix it so its right. He knows I go to cruise nights etc. He wants to maintain his rep.

IMO it looks darker in direct sunlight rather than overcast. Maybe it just pops more in direct sunlight. It can be seen through but not easily at a glance seems to be the best way to describe it. I have read other threads where they say it is hard to see out of. I feel differently. I drove all last summer with 20% on sides and back. I not once felt the need to put the window down to see pedestrians or backing up.

Look at the photo below and see for yourself. I took this photo today to give you an idea as to what the 5% looks like from the inside. It's a completely typical overcast NY winter day.

I was actually able to take the car out last Saturday for an hr long spin and had no issues (day time). Like I earlier stated, I did catch myself flipping my mirror thinking it was set for night. Only once though. lol

I did take it out one other time at night and had no trouble seeing cars behind me (headlights).

Thanks for the compliments on the car. To me it looks like it needs a bath. I kinda messed myself up a little bit with having the body work done in the winter time. Now I can't use my brand new cover until the paint is done curing. I did (finally) respond to your question regarding the dent repair in my other thread as well. I can link it for you if needed.

Whatever you decide. Do not let them tint the dotted matrix. Mine looked great when I picked up the car but looks like a** now.

Hope this helps and let me know what you think.

Hmm cool i would think that during sunlight you would be able to easily see inside, I wish I knew what tint is on my car, man I cant stand when you can see inside. It looks awesome from the inside and feels like its really dark but in reality you can look inside, not too easy but you can.

Ah ok yeah I doubt that if your car is seen by a lot of people he would want for people to know that he did a bad job.

Oh ok because I have a foxbody that has tint but I also don't know what is on it and at night I would have to put my window down because it seemed dark, I got pulled over twice for it and supposedly they said it was 16% which is stupid because I personally never even heard of 16%.

Man that's really 5%? It looks super dark from the outside but from that view it almost looks like there is nothing there. Thanks yeah ill see, I want to take off my tint first and actually for being tinted in 2003 at the dealer when it first sold its perfect but I just hate the look of a car without tints, well especially on a red car with black, idk i just feel like the tints go way better with it.

I dug through some photos. The pic below is 20%. This is pretty much exactly what your car would look like with 20% from the side view. I believe 5% is the darkest available.
I've never heard of 16% either.

It just depends on how the light is hitting it versus backdrop. Here is a photo on a hot sunny day I took while being bored waiting for my wife to come out of the store.

Same 20% tint as the other photo.
True, It looks really good there that's how i want mine to look yeah i guess it just all depends on the angle. Are you planning to do anything else to it? Appearance wise? I want some black rims, yeah i know its really common with the Red and black thing but Tints and black rims on our cars look really good. Idk if you have seen these before.

Funny you asked, I was drooling over these here last week wondering how they would look on the Mach. idk

The rims I have now do have some road rash. I do like them and wish they could be restored. I'm on the fence with the all black. The all black looks good, just personal preference.

Ah ok yes those look nice as well, the problem that I have is that I just have never seen a torch red mach or any red new edge with those. I have seen azure machs with some and man do they look good.

The stock rims? I also like the heritage mach DD wheels those look really good if the car is lowered a little.

I havent seen any either. If I were to try them I would feel the need to do the calipers in black, not with covers but caliper paint instead. IMO the red would pop too much.

An azure mach would look good even if it had pinto rims on it.

I would need to see the deep dish in person to make a decision on them.
