Default Detail process

So I'm trying to come up with a good wash step by step process. I'm getting my hood repainted soon and I'm taking off all my old vinyl.
So far this is what I have:
Wash with turtle wax ice
Meguiars clay bar
Meguiars ultimate polish
Either meguiars tech liquid wax or the ultimate wax (I'll prolly put two coats on)
I'm actually at a loss for a final step

Any recommendations?

I think the wax would be your final step. BTW, on my white 'stang, I found that the Hi-Tech #26 wax (I used paste) gave the car a yellowish look over time. The Ultimate Wax (I use liquid) is just fine.

Your first step should be in checking with the paint shop as to how long you should wait before waxing (typically 90 days), so that the paint is fully cured.

the steps are pretty basic. you listed them in basic order. minus wipeing the car down after clay. does the paint need corrected? if so you may look into a da polisher to used with the ultimate compound. after that proceed to sealant/wax. I also highly recommend the two bucket method of washing...youtube it. especially with fresh paint. chemical guys make a sealant safe for fresh paint

2nd on the 2 bucket wash! I use Meguiars products but the wash I use is the new
Armour All "wash&wax". I like it a lot so far.

These r some good things to think about. I do already use the double bucket method I detail cars during the Sumer and its a must. Is it ok to layer wax

It is certainly okay to layer wax as long as the product you are using is non-abrasive. If it is a cleaner-wax, then you can't layer it successfully; the new layer removes a portion of the old layer.

Polish, Clay, Wax. In that order. I mostly only wax my car with the occasional clay since my cars cleanliness is pretty upkept
