Default Mike's car wash

The wife was getting the SUV washed at Mike's car wash. There was a thunderbird soft top convertible going through. I was always under the assumption that convertibles can't go through these. The wife asks the worker there and they said there is a setting for convertibles that protects the top. Is the wife getting a load of cr** or is this true?

To be fully honest no car is safe in a tunnel wash. These places are all paint job killers, some being much worse then others. If you can't wash your vehicle at your house you should always find a place that has a touchless wash system. I have gotten a lot of work fixing damage caused by car washes.

She'll be getting a paint job in the next couple years anyway, I was just wondering if the "special settings" for convertibles was true or not....seems like hooey to me, but with advances in everything with electronics and such, I guess it's not far fetched.

I have never heard of a 'convertible top' car wash setting ....

With today's carwash tech, they do have settings for soft tops, I get mine washed there often (Now it's Crew here in Indy). There is also a setting for the "Gatling Guns" that if not lowered, can blast the decals of the cars. Make sure they are using the right settings.
