Default Plastic vs Leather

So I've been reading mixed things about Leather Cleaner and Plastic Cleaner. I bought Optimum premium leather cleaner, the guy that made it was a chemist for DuPoint and I saw a video where a guy did interior restoration with this product. SO I've read to not use leather cleaner on plastic and to not use plastic cleaner on leather BECAUSE the chemicals in leather cleaner funk up plastic and the chemicals in plastic cleaner dry out leather. Now me personally I only use dedicated leather cleaner/conditioner for my leather seats but I dislike Amorall and have been using this Optimum leather cleaner with what I feel like is success for my interior plastic but the time will tell. Another thing I've seen recommended for exterior plastic, to get the blackness back and to preserve it, is Di-electric grease. So I've been putting that grease on some of my rubber seals from time to time, and it does darken the rubber but also makes my soap not very soapy when I wash the car.

So plastic and rubber. I guess ford and GM use different types of compounds, and back 15 years ago used something different than they use now? I am wonder what is actually PROVEN to preserve rubber seals on our cars, and whats proven to protect exterior plastic.

I have changed my hole car interior with premium class leather. It was pricy but I don't regret it. Do know any good quality cleaning oil to maintain the fresh look? I would be happy if you can share some cleaning products. Btw, I ordered a restorvation services for my steering wheel from Woodensteeringwheels.com. Can't wait to get it
