Default Dome light not working. Please help!

I need some help figuring out how to get my dome light to work in my 70 Coupe. When I open the door, the light doesn't come on. I changed the bulb; that didn't work. I checked for burnt wires; didn't find any. I replaced the fuse; that didn't work. I replaced the dome light itself; that didn't work. Now I'm at the point where I'm trying to follow the wiring to figure out which wire it is. I'm not having any luck.

Can someone give me some advice on how I should go about troubleshooting this?

Could it be just the door jamb switch, you could try to just "jump it" there to see if it'll work. Doesn't it work with any of the 2 doors open or just one door, that could give a clue.

If you have a voltmeter with continuity tester use it. Set the meter to continuity, place one probe on the dome light wire (black with blue stripe?) and the other on the door switch wire. If the meter beeps, your wire is good. If not, probably a break in the wire. Do this first and see what happens than get back with us...mucho luck!!

Had another thought...does your headlight switch work? Turns on the dome light? Might be bad connection there or faulty headlight switch as well...maybe?

Same situation with my '69. I think I may have left the dome light turned on all night (via the headlight switch). I replaced the fuse and the bulb but no luck.

Ya. I haven't replaced the door switches yet but when both of the doors are open, the light still doesn't come on. Thank you for the response.

I'll have to try the continuity tester. I havent done that yet. I replaced the headlight switch not even a year ago. That switch is fine.

check power at the light, if no power just disconnect it and put pos to it and see what ones do not light with a light, whatever one doesnt just replace it.
