set both at your choice....then install on engine..start...then screw one side in untill rpm's start to drop...then back out 3/4 turn....then do the other side the same way...

I have always started at 1 1/2 out from bottom. This seems to work best for me. and then adjust from there, I don't think there is a factory setting , except maybe , at least 2 turns off the bottom.
Nice looking carb.

cool thanks

intake swap went great
thanks to everyone that helped
and mustangsteve.com made it incredibly easy

old out
new in
carb on
the edelbrock ford throttle adapter smacked right into the brace for my ac pump so i took the stock metal rod
got out a die and threaded the end and bolted it to the edlebrock linkage
works great
good thing my kickdown is attached to the pedal

car started right up

floats are set a little high
its surging and i can see fuel dripping from the venturis while it is idling but that should be an easy fix

Go to the FAQ section and there is a link for edelbrock carbs. there are videos on adjusting and troubleshooting those type of carbs.

do you usualy go up or down when tuning those? and adjust one a 1/4 turn, then do the other a 1/4 turn, wait for a sec, then repeat? or do one fully, then the other fully? -Jon

Baxsom, do we bother on asking what's on that video?[8D]

Get a vacuum gauge and connect it to manifold vacuum. As long as both screws are set the same: 1.5 turns, or 2 turns, your fine. Start the motor, insure its warm, and watch the vacuum gauge as you adj each screw individually. Adj each screw, noting the turns in or out, until you have max vacuum, and don't over turn the screw, stop at max vacuum. Both screws setting should be very close the the same when done.
Works every time. I'm guessing but stock vacuum should be 16 to 20 psi, give or take.
