i am switching my pertronix over into another distributer. i cant find the gapping tool.

does anyone know the measurement for the gap.

and

is it ok to use metal feeler gauges. i know the original was plastic and the sleeve is magnetic so i wanted to ask before i shove a metal gauge in and mess something up

 

Metal won't mess it up but as you know it's magnetic. It will give a false feel as it will drag on magnet. Can't remember what the gap was supposed to be.

he said 30 thousandths

so .030 is pretty much right

he also said a business card is right at perfect

 

it is .030 I just installed mine on saturday.

 

I installed one last year and put the gapper in a safe place. So damn safe I can't find mine either.

 

Its .030 I just installed mine today.
