valve body torque

Default valve body torque

does any one know what the c4 automatic transmission valve body is torqued to. as my best im thinking about 10 pounds. but don't want to strip out anything.

My book says..."lower to upper valve body bolts", 20-35 inch pounds. "Screen to valve body bolt" 20-35 inch pounds. "Screen to valve body bolts" as well as "screen and valve body to case"...80-120 inch pounds. Kind of confusing to me but, maybe it'll help in your case.

thanks. i had to switch my shifter arm with the one that came with the rebuilt. mine has the rod hookup that goes to the steering column so you can't put it gear without the key on. now all i have to do is take the torque converter back and get them to get the right one. they sent the large one. always something unfortunately where i live there arent any reputable tranny shops. as soon as you talk to them they start telling you about one price and adding the fact that it might be higher and also they havent done a c4 for a long time and might not be able to get all the parts needed. might as well just drive by and throw a couple hundred out the window at them.

just stiffly snug them, torque specs are for pussies

(seriously i only torque rods, main caps, and heads.... rarely do i torque anything else)
