Default underdrive pulleys

my mechanic said i dont need to go to underdrive pulleys but i need to replace them because he didnt install polished ones when i built the motor, what are the pros and cons...if i do go to an undrive system, if i go to a higher amp alternator will that help from slowing down the accessories?

The smaller the pulley, the harder the unit has to work. I would go with a 100 amp alt, but with the stock size wheel.

yea the whole motor is polished and then he put on some damn ugly *** rusted pulleys and the original alternator...doesnt fit the look of the rest of the motor...i think i can handle installing pulleys myself so he wont be making any $$$

Default underdrive pulleys are great for drag cars

If you do daily driving, I would stick to the stock ratio pulleys. Less chance of overheat, uses stock size belt, and allows you to use a lower amp alternator that uses less HP at high rpm.

Just my two cents.
