Default Classic Mustang Reliability

Hey everybody!

I know this is a broad question but are there any years where the year/engine combo is better or worse as far as reliability?

I don't think there are as many differences with the classics reliability as there are say from 74-2005.

Any thoughts would be appreciated and used to consider my future ride!

Thanks!

Well, I don't know about reliability, but I find it a lot easier to work on the engines of the "classics" from 65-73. They were so simple to understand and room was in abundance in the engine bay. Any shadtree mechanic can do most work on a good ol' small block V8. Newer ones take a little more sophistication to understand. Something to consider.

Even more importantly, you don’t have to have emissions done on the old classis as you do on the Mustang II and newer.

On the left we describe how it is to work on a classic car.

On the right we try and figure out ECCs, Emissions, ignition kills, fuel injection etc>
