It's not like it is hurting us to ask. I tried to get the 5.0 guys to help, and will continue to do so.

ok i see 89gtred is getting a little impatient about getting this thing going so here goes, we've discussed the idea a couple times since this thread started, but the thing is, we're not so sure how this would go... if you really want this to happen you'll have to give us a little more arguments than "i'm in" and "that would be cool" because we can't quite figure out what the objective of a drop top only section would be. i mean how many threads can you really make about putting the top up and putting it back down ?[sm=smiley5.gif] ...give us some reasons to work with so we can figure out if it's something the forum and its members would benefit from.

I think it would be nice to have a singular place to get help for vert questions. I can think of multiple problems that are just vert related. Weather stripping, rear window motors, suspension, top motors, and even finding ways to clean all these items as well (I have a white top which is impossible to keep clean, help needed if anyone out there can). There are alot of things that are unique to our rides, and even the drivers themselves are unique. We drive vehicles that are heavier, flex more, and require more maintenance for a reason. We love to put the top down and press that petal as far as it will go.

Ok, here are a few "issues", "topics of discussions", "areas of interests", or whatever you want to call it that Vert Stang owners could address in a Vert forum. This is a quick list off the top of my head. I will depend on my fellow vert owners to expand as they can think of additional, no kidding issues:

- Top maintenance (cleaning, repair, best products, etc.)
- Top replacement (color, cloth vs vinyl, how to, etc.)
- Other top issues (bulges, etc.)
- Leakage issues (prevention, TSB, rubber seals, etc.)
- Stability issues (STB, etc.)
- Alarms issues (best alarms, motion control, etc.)
- Back glass replacement and other issues
- Drone issues (comparing cats or axle back noise inside verts)
- Removable Hard tops (pros, cons, best price, install, availability, etc.)
- Suspension (good, bad, ugly, issue vs no issue, weight, etc.)
- Subframe connectors (needed, not needed, what the heck is it?)
- convertible nice to have items (light bars, windscreens, etc.)
- Stripping (include the top of windshield, yes? no? pics? you know the issual questions.

Ok, back me up guys and gals..what else?

Those are all actually VERY common questions you put out Tpony, I myself have asked most b4 but unfortunately I do not get any answers in the 5.0 section as no one who doesnt own a vert cares about these issues...]

I have also been asked or myself asked about:

- Headliners in our verts (where can you get em? are they removable?)
-Motor issues (where is it? how do I fix it? access it?)
-Hydraulics issues (leaks? how to refill? how to know if the lines are full?)

There are other issues as well but I cant think of them ATM, or they fall into one of the previously listed categories but would be slightly varied. Such as the handle locks on the tops and replacement or fixing, or frame issues such as telling if its bent or fixing any frame issues.

Thats just some questions a couple of us have thought up. I am sure others will think of other questions as well if they are given the chance and time. Thanx for considering this and let me know when you guys put the new vert section into use!

Plenty of vert-specific topics to address... as a new vert owner I know I still have LOADS of vert questions to ask!!! Selfishly, I want to be able to tap into the knowledge-base of convertible mustang owners... and be able to filter out those non-vert owners that may not have the experience and know-how that vert owners do.

As someone already mentioned, us vert owners are a different breed !!!
