Default computer not communicating

Hello, I have a 01 Mustang gt that I recently motor swapped with a 99 crown vic ( yes I know I probably should have went for a 01+ but this was my cheapest option) I put the motor in and everything seems to work besides a few things. So i went to scan the obd2 and it's saying failed connection, after that I saw a video talking about how if the mileage numbers aren't popping up and if shown as dashes it could be a grounding issue ( a symptom I have). I checked all my grounds and i believe they are all in place. I pretty much checked every single fuse under the dash and the couple for the pcm in the engine bay but I didn't run into any blown fuses and even checked them with a multimeter. Now what I believe is my biggest issue is that the car is smoking white super bad when running which I assume is because it seems like the car is dumping fuel in and can't burn all of it ( cant be coolant because there isn't any in it as of right now since I run it no more than 30 seconds). As you walk to the back of the car you can even see the gas dripping out the exhaust and white smoke is slowly flowing out. The car runs and starts right up no problem but I don't know why it is acting up so bad as I have done lots of research and checked everything little thing I can think of. If anyone has any suggestions please shoot them my way as I'm ready to finally get this car fixed. I will attach a video of the car when I first ever started it up after the swap.
