Default running strait pipes

I have an 01 4.6 GT 2V and was wondering if I were to eliminate the 2 mufflers that are part of my stock exaust and replace them with 2.5" pipes, would it be loud as hell in a bad way?Im looking for a bit more growl than my stock exaust but I dont want to keep getting pulled over though.Unfortunately i'm on a strict budget due to the fact that I'm getting married this year and I'm the one getting stuck paying for the damn thing lol.

you need a crossover pipe, and i personally would just go with a loudmouth system.

It will sound like utter crap. Loud and very raspy/unfinished sounding.

i agree...that would probably sound like crap.

i have dual stage flowmasters and an aftermarket h-pipe w/ no cats...that sounds pretty good. if you really want louder growl tho...go w/ some long tube headers1!

true straight pipes will produce LESS power than a H or X pipe.

Take off your H-pipe and run it for a couple mins to see how you like it. Put it back on. lol

true straight pipes will produce LESS power than a H or X pipe.
less torque, cause there is less back preasure.

It will move the torque and HP peak higher in the rpm, in most cases.
