true straight pipes will produce LESS power than a H or X pipe.
less torque, cause there is less back preasure.
It will move the torque and HP peak higher in the rpm, in most cases.
not always, the cross-over equalizes the air flow and helps move the air out quicker, if a pair of straight pipes produced more HP at 7500-9000 RPM, then why does NASCAR run X pipes?

aren't you just talking about removing the mufflers and leaving the midpipe? it'll be loud, not necessarily good sounding but like said it'll move your power and torque curve up.

i think ill take the hit and just go with a magna flow or borla H-pipe.3"would prolly do the trick

I meant that it shifts the torque/power curve upwards, I was commenting on the misconceprion that a loss of backpressure making it lose torque. I did not mean to imply anything about an X pipe.
