Default 87 3rd brake light question

The 3rd brake light on my 1987 GT convertible appears to be very dim. It's possibly a grounding problem. Has anyone got any suggestions on how to trouble shoot this. Thanks in advance.

The 3rd brake light on my 90 GT has two small bulbs, maybe you just have one out. Other than that you can check the voltage going to the bulb and start from there.

Good Luck, Don

Don:

Thanks. I've taken it apart, and one bulb is brighter than the other. I've replaced and changed the bulbs around but that doesn't seem to fix it.

Lee,

Ok, it is most likely the socket or the wiring splice where the not so bright bulb taps into the wiring of the bright bulb or the wire in between them. The two bulbs are wired in parallel so they should get the same voltage.

Good Luck, Don
