Default Trans Centers

I went to Cottman a while back (around 3-4 years ago) however I have never been to them since (no more trans needs).

I just called to find out how much it will cost to install a shift kit, aux cooler, and gears.

Charge Per Hour: $90

Shift Kit: 2.1 hours
Aux Cooler: 1.5-2.5 hours
Gears: 3-4 hours

Total: $774

Is this around the avg price? Am I getting ripped off?

Plus they will not provide a warranty since I am bringing my own parts.

Some shift kits are easily installed yourself but I've never done a Mustang so I don't know about that. The cooler is a DIY item so if you want to save $$$$ DIY.The gears are not to be done without at least a dail indicator to set backlash so this must be done by a pro.$90 an hour is kinda high around here $50 is the going rate(Wv).

DIY on everything but the gears, dont be scared to take screws out, you're not going to break it, unless you cant remember how it goes back together. Gears are definately a different story and need shims, correct backspacing etc, so get them to do that, or find a guy on the forum who lives by you and is good at it.

3-4 hours for the gears is not excessive IMHO.......
