ok i have a 1983 mustang convertable with a 3.8L (carb) engine, i wanted to transfer over to a 5L but found out its alot of work.....so now im woundering what can i do to spice up my 3.8L, give it sum more *****......., some of my friends civics are blowing me away its a enbaresment to the mustang lol so if u guys kno of anything i could do, just let me kno......thanks alot!!!! another question how much HP dose a 3.8 come with stock?

 

Sorry Man, can't help you with upgrades on a 3.8 83...all I can say is drop in the 5.0L, it will be cheaper and make a ton more HP. That 3.8 will never have as much ballz. You can find everything you need to do the swap at a junk yard and pay hardly nothing for it.

This probably isn't what you wanna hear but get rid of the 83 and get a real Mustang.. Sure, it will cost you money but only way you can wipe your friends.. You can pick up 88-93 5.0 Mustangs really cheap.. 2-3 grand and you can have a tire smoking machine.. Sure it won't be the fastest or look the best.. But I'm willing to bet none of your friends and their Civics will beat you unless they dropped 8-10 grand on their motor..
