springs?
alright while i'm doing shocks and struts i wanna lower the car, would it be possible to just cut a coil or two of the spring to lower it or use the lowering kit. i know the lowering kit is better, but looking for a quick way out for now

RE: springs?
Pop for some professionally manufactured springs that will lower your car and provide you with the proper tuned handling. No more than 1 1/2" otherwise you will have to modify additional parts of your suspension to compensate your your new front end geometry. I went with Steeda sport springs and they handle like glue. BIG difference noticed immediately. Stiffer rear upper control arms also help quite a bit with your rear handling. I only installed the Ford Racing rear upper control arms which are very reasonably priced but still noticed a much more predictable rear handling feel. I did install Tokico struts and shocks with KYB quads at the same time. All worked very well together. Good luck with your ride!

RE: springs?
you ever see ricers cruising down the highway and the front and rear end are po-go-ing up and down? that is what a cut coil will get you. Most coils are progressive springs, the more you compact the more it resists bottoming, lop off the top or bottom and you lose that control and boing, boing, boing....Hey bro, Sweet fart can on your Civic!

They used to do this in the old days before lowering springs, they also would heat up the springs with weight on them to get the car to lower. All of which effects the way it rides. Go with a lowering kit. Eibach Pro will cost you about $250, but it is worth it.
