Needing info on c4 vs. c6 for performance
The problem is I already have a c6, everything I read says go c4 for performance. This is going into a creation that has already burnt up a aod tranny. 351w swap into a v6 body I dont want a 5 speed because my wife drives it occasionally lol, I want one though. I probably have around 350 horses estimate. My question is can the c6 be built to contend or is it better for me to hunt down a c4. thanks
I'm not quite sure, but I think the c6 can hold more power than the c4, but the c6 also saps more horsepower
The c6 was originally for use with big blocks, so yeah, it should handle your measly 350 horsepower lol (j/k about the measly part)

I have a Ford with a C6. It out lived the H.O. 302 and is now behind a 351W. The C6 has a B&M shift kit. Nails gears like a sledge hammer. Get the right stall and add big H.P. Yes the C4 saves H.P. and weights less. C4's can be built to handle power. To do the swap you need to modify the drive shaft length and move the cross member in some cases. I don't remember if you also need a different flex plate ( they are cheap enough ).
I would stay with the C6 and get power adders. They are almost bullit proof. Especialy if the wife might be driving it.
LOL

The C6 is a strong tranny. They can handle allot of power if built correctly. The downfalls to the C6 are they are heavier, which robs more power and the large internals don't like high rpm.....7000 -up. We had one behind our 950+ HP door slammer. After about 15-20 runs, it needed new clutches.
