Need help changing struts!
I got a '95 coupe. I changed the rear shocks - easy 1/2hr job. THe front struts are setup like my '89 Camaro, except the top of the stuts (on the shock-towers) has a slot instead of a tab. With the Camaro, all I had to do is hold the top of the strut with a wrench and loosen the shaft with another wrench. With the Mustang I don't have the right tool to hold the shaft still so I can loosen the shaft. Is there a special tool for this? I thought about getting a heavy-duty socket-type flat-tip driver to hold it still with. Is there a better tool to use and if so, where do I get it? The dealer wants to charge $165 to change the struts, plus $60 front-end allignment. I'd rather change them myself and get it alligned when I'm done. Again, just to be clear, the top of the strut shaft on top of the shock-tower is SLOTTED, so I need a tool to fit that SLOT so I can hold the shaft still while I loosen the nut. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. It's a '95 coupe, V6 Gold Edition if that matters (looks like the same setup as the GT). THANKS A MILLION!
