oil sludge cleaning?
I went for an oil change at my Ford dealer 2 months ago and they suggested an oil sluge cleaner. Supposably it cleans the pan of all the sludge and sluge or crud in the engine. Did you guys ever hear of such a treatment? They hook it up to some sort of machine. Is it worth it? i dont use synthetic. I just bought the car used with 67,000 miles in October 03. I just started using the motorcraft 5w30. Don't know what was put in before then. Do you think it would be a good investment to go ahead and do this since i don't know the cars oil history?

Do it your self for cheaper by doing an oil change and driving it for a day or two then change oil again.
Heres something to think about with those 20 minute oil changes.

RE: oil sludge cleaning?
Get some SeaFoam or B12 checmical and pour the recomended amount into your engine, let idle for 5 minutes and drain and change the filter imediatly. I use the stuff religously. With every 3000 miles oil change I do on my car the oil comes out clearer and clearer. I use B12 mainly because its widely available at AutoZone and Kregan. SeaFoam is at Napa and thats several miles from here. Use SeaFoam if you have carbon buildups on your cylenders and want your valves and **** cleaned. Just let the engine take about 1/3 of the stuff in through the TB, carb. Shut the engine off and wait the recomended time and then turn it back on. Dont be alarmed by the plumes of white smoke, thats just all the crap coming out of your engine, as you use the item more and more, say every 5000 miles you will nottice the smoke will get thinner and thinner.
Both the B12 and Seafoam product work great and I highly suggest them. Both can be bought for under $5 dollars. Both can also be added to your fuel tank to clean your fuel system.

Personally i dont belive in "MIRACLES IN A CAN" or "MECHANICS IN A CAN" like a lot or most of these products are.
If you are that worried about cleaning the motor out nothing beats changing the oil often.I let the oil in my mustang get to no higher than 1,000 miles before changing it.And my oil comes out just as clean as it went in and ive never used any of these miracles in can.

it is but use it maybe every 50k......bad thing on the sluge remover if pieces come off will land in the pickup have seen with get stopped up from this...I think some will dissolve al the slude like MOA from BG products and amsoil... when changing you oil next time buy 1 extra qt.. pour this in in engine after you drain it this will remove some loose stuff in the pan.so you'll have 6 qt remove. them buy a good syth oil, mobil 1 amsoil, and a good filter like hastings, amsoil,k&n
