Problem with Ford Customer Service

If you are out of your warranty they might not help you at all.
TSB's are only covered when you are under your cars warranty.

Sorry this is wrong. TSB are covered anytime. I had the salt and pepper shakers changed on my 89 stang after the warranty ran out.

If you got TSB work done after your warranty is out, you must have asked them on a good day, or they just didn't know.
Unless your car is under warranty, they will not work on it for free. A TSB does not = free work. Here is the definition of a TSB
^^^^ is from http://www.alldata.com. $2800 to rebuild a transmission is rediculous..Id call a few transmission shops and see what they would charge for a rebuild. My guess is its under $1000. Since you have fairly low mileage, see if ford will help cover the cost of the rebuild..good luck
Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs) are issued by vehicle manufacturers to help automotive technicians diagnose and repair problems reported by consumers and repair shops. It's amazing how many fixes are found in these bulletins that can't be found anywhere else. Thousands of bulletins are issued by car manufacturers every year.
TSBs contain up-to-date factory fixes for difficult to diagnose problems such as rough idles, intermittent stalls, hard starts, and all kinds of "shakes", "rattles" and "clunks" that can sometimes drive you nuts. TSBs describe service procedures that may improve performance, reduce future breakdowns, or show a factory authorized modification for your vehicle.

I stated that the estimate was for $2,800 plus tax. That was wrong. It included tax.
I also gave the impression that third gear was my only problem. In fact 3rd gear is my biggest problem. I also have a notchy feel in all gears. And trouble shifting into lst and 2nd when the wheather is cold.
The rebuild kit for this transmission is 3R3Z-7124-AC. It includes revised components. Including a Synchro kit, main shaft gears, shift forks and rail assemblies, and block rings.
The kit costs around $1,326. I am unable to find this kit and price now but I took notes when I found it. Just not where I found it. I will find it again.
