Default Problem with Ford Customer Service

Ford has a TSB (Technical Service Bulletin) for the TR3650 manual transmissions for 2001 to 2003 Mustangs. My 2001 Mustang GT exhibits a clash/grind noise when shifting into 3rd gear as stated in the TSB. I paid the dealer $50 to learn that the transmission needs to be rebuilt for ONLY $2,800 plus tax. Because this is a Ford defect, I believe that Ford should rebuild my transmission free of charge. The Ford dealer refused to cover the rebuild costs. Ford Customer Service told me that Ford was "unwilling to assist me at this time". I want to fight this. I refuse to pay for this needed rebuild. I only have 55,500 miles on this car. I'm still making payments for this car. Please help me fight this. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ask for the area representative's contact info. They can and usually do over ride the local dealers.

I talked with Ford Cutomer Service at 1-800-392-ford, as well as the Cusomer Service at the dealer. Are you saying that there is another person to call?

Looks like you are screwed then..Call the 800# back and ask if they have a way to appeal thier decision. Talk to a supervisor..not some schmo answering phones.

Keep on them. I used to work for a dealership. I can tell you, if you keep on them, and don't let up, 90% of the time they change thier original decision.

If you are out of your warranty they might not help you at all.

TSB's are only covered when you are under your cars warranty.
