Sound @ 3K+

Got the GT out yesterday, noticed a sound today [8D].. figures.lol

its noticeable whether im in gear under light acceleration, or in nuetal revving a bit up to 3K where it starts.

With the doors closed, it sounds like its coming from up front in the engine or somewhere, but with the door opened, it sounded more from underneath.

It isnt really a plastic ping,, almost like a plastic whirring sound (not throwout bearing, that hasnt started back up this spring yet)

does anyone think they can make a prediction with such a crappy description.?

well, nobody has any suggestions?

its a squeak like sound that gets loud the higher i go in the rpm range
it is noticeable in all gears too, not just in 5th

no suggestions? maybe a pulley'd loose? i dont konw...

Well, I dont know too much about fixing noises, but my car did something almost just like it, and the alternator was the cause. Check your alternator, it might need work or replacing.

It's possible you could have a pulley bearing going out. Probably the idler pulley. Your description of being in gear and out makes it tough to say though. Just try bringing your RPM up while sitting still in neutral (clutch in, too) and report the sound. That may help us out.

I know you said it wasn't the throwout bearing but that is what it sounds like to me. Does it do it when you are pushing in on the clutch?

Easy way to check the bearing on the Alt/WP/PS/and Idler, Take the belt off with the car cold. Start it up. If it goes away, shut the car off and hand spin all the accessories, see which accessory has the bad bearing. If it still exists then it's the throwout bearing. I got the same sound in my car after I had the clutch replaced. The throwout bearing they put in crapped out after about two weeks. The replaced and no problems since (3 months now)

its not the throwout, but i udnerstand why you might think iti s

last year the throw out bearing was making noise, and it was OBVIOUSLY the throwout bearng

it just hasnt started back up this year,

i'll try to thingy with the belts, so start it cold w/o the belt
then if it isnt present, hand spin the pulleys??
