Default PVC Valve

Hey,
I was getting a greyish white smoke out of my tailpipes for the first time yesterday. I dont think its a bad head gasket cause i just bought and installed new ones. I also drained the oil today and there was no traces of coolant. The engine was just rebuilt and has had no problems with smoking. This is why i dont think its a bad ring. It was coming out of the pasenger side more than the driver side. I was wondering if a bad PVC valve could cause this. I looked at the rubber vacum hose to the carb form the PVC and i found some traces of oil. The vacum line enters on the passenger side of the carb. Is a bad PVC whats causing this?
Thanks
Matt

it certainly could be a pcv...change that first and the screen and check the hose for leaks. could also be a lower intake gasket. if that doesn't cure the problem do a compression test. did you properly break in the motor?
