96 fuel pump fuel line removal help needed
ive never removed any sort of fuel lines let alone any on this car, i know the line removal tool is needed and i have it but it doesnt work well. i need some advise as to how to disconnect this ****, its holding me up real bad. thanks alot, and heres a picture of what im talking about.
Take some wd-40 or the like and spray it in the connector. Rotate the flex line on the hard line to be sure it moves. The connector has 4 prongs, or fingers if you will holding the line on. You have to make sure you put the tool in far enough to release the fingers and pull on the line while the tool is still inside the line.

the $10 autozone tool does not work well, a $150 snap-on one works perfectly

push the line into the connector with one hand while pushing the cheap fuel line plastic remover deal into the line to the "fingers"...u should be able to push em both together or push the line onto the remover and it just pop off,be careful of the gas tho

i had to deal with that the first time today. i got the 4 in 1 tool from autozone, and it broke. i got the 3/8 "performance tool" one from O'Reilly's and it wasn't working. so i used it and pulled away from the fuel filter and i got them to come off. as for the spring things, i used a flat head screwdriver to pop the piece farthest away from the filter and then pulled up on the other side and they came off.
dont forget to release the pressure (disable the fuel pump and let the fuel line "dry up") before trying to start taking the lines out, else you'll have lots of gas.
