got a good one for you mustang guys.. my father in law just failed inspection with his 02-03? mustang v6. they said his rear brakes were not braking enough? I then replaced the rear pads which had @ 40% left on them..... he took the car to the DMV today and failed again for rear brakes??? they said that the rear brakes arent working properly.. anyone had a problem similar to this??? is it possibly the proportioning valve? ?? brakes feel tight to me. no pedal fade. not mushy? PLEASE HELP

 

I have never heard of that one for inspection especially on a new car. Are they using some type of gauge to determine this? How does the car feel when stopping? WTF!!

 

where i live they dont even look at breaks. Did they have your car on a dyno or something? how could they tell if it had good breaks?

 

Are you sure it is the rear brakes, and not the Parking brake ? Some places do a parking brake check as part of the inspection.
