Default help with electric cutouts(dumps)

i want to put electric out cuts on my 89 mustang. the best price i found was around $270, anyone know anywhere better? Also i herd there bad because you loose to much back pressure. the dumps will be put on right after the headers. Do i need back pressure when i'm on the track. The normal pipes will be on for street use. How illegal are they. how hard of a time will i have getting the car inspected? Thanks Ben

On my 350, should be nearly the same for you, I lost very very little low end torque and gained a lot of higher RPM hp'er. In other words, you'll pull much harder in the top of your power band. They're not illegal at all unless they're open. Mine is illegal b/c I cut out the the CAT and put the c/o in it's place.

i'm thinking about getting new headers hollowing out the first set of cats and puting the cutout in place of the second cat so it will pretty much be a straigh pipe. right now in just running cats no mufflers i can tell a huge difference. how much more of a difference do you thing i'll see with new headers and only one hollewed out cat? Thanks Ben
