Default fuel filter

so i decided to replace my fuel filter because i dont know when it was last replaced...i looked at it and i think its the original filter..the car has 70K on it. i cant get the hoses off of the stupid filter....they do just pull off right?? i need some help ..asap

they sell either a tool, or a small set of plastic pieces used to slide underneath the line (or between) however you look at it, and once they are pressed into it, then pull

it took me like 15 minutes, just have a rag ready to catch some of the gas
