I have a 2003 Stang GT convertible.....its goin in the shop this coming Mon. for replacement of the second gear Synchronizer.....

My car grinds a bit when going into second......


On a side note does anyone notice that the stock shifter is a bit harsh?? (not very fluidlike, or slicklike)???? Almost as if it grittingly goes into the gears???

Mine don't grind but sometimes I literally have to slam it into a gear. What I've learned to do in the down time is shift into another gear and then into the gear I wanted to go in. When you shift into the other gear it lines the synchros up again.
