Installation Prices... Tell me what u all think
i have shocks, struts, caster camber plates, springs and polyurethane steering rack bushings that im installing ... i have 2 places
B&D Racing- specialize in mustangs .... they want 500 or so to install that stuff and front wheeel slignment
This other place- doesnt specialize in mustangs, hasnt worked on my specific 99 GT but has worked on stangs in the past... said he would do it for 350
no... im thinking the 350 because its 150 dollars cheaper and i think that those parts are simple enough to install that u dont need to be a mustang specialist to install them... when i do my subframes and jacking rails... im gonna take that to B&D racing ... but ya ... tell me if u guys think that the non mustang specialist place could handle that stuff...

youi should be fine with the other place , just align it to what the cc plates will tell you(alignment angles) . that uasually what they include i dont know it off hand .
GT99GT,
I've found posts on Corral.net about alignment specs. The consensus was this:
[ul][*]max caster {4-6 degrees} (same on both sides)[*]-1 to -1.5 degrees camber[*]1/16" total toe-in
[/ul]
These are the recommended street settings for improved handling. A shop using a computer alignment should have no problem with those specs.

If you say that you are installing them ,...then,..WHY ARE YOU PAYING SOMEONE?????
COWBOY UP!!!!!!!! GET YOUR HANDS DIRTY FOR ONCE ,...Do what you say you will,.... INSTALL THEM. For the price they want to install them you can buy the tools you need and get the job done. But you get to keep the tools.
You may need to get the front springs banded for 40.00 to install them, and the alignment will be about 60.00. So for 100.00 you are well under any shops quote. If you already have tools then GREAT!! use $15 of the 250.00 you saved to buy a manual that will tell you how to do it all.
This way you can actually be a part of your ride (when the wrench slips and you bloody your knuckle).
As you can tell I have PASSION for Mustangs. I want to touch and feel and be a part of EVERY part of my CAR. Not everyone shares that passion....TOO BAD for them...It's such a feeling of accomplishment to be a part of something that's yours, I'd hate it if I was reduced to having to pay someone to wipe my ***. What kinda pride do we have when we have to PAY someone to do everything we want? I would feel left out, and taken advantage of.
My friend says that he doesn't trust himself to do the work,..SHAME, SHAME, get some confidence!!!!. .....It really doesn't hurt that bad(pain goes away)to LEARN and get some EXPERIENCE!!!
I guess that I just take too much pride in my ride,....It's mine and "I" made it.
Basically, you have to compare YOUR personal satisfaction with something that you BOUGHT or something that YOU CREATED. Personally I am more satisfied with some thing that I CREATE because it's MINE

lol, well thanks for that, although it had nothing to do with the actual question. the fact of the matter is i am going to be installing a lot of the parts my self, right now i don't have time because im in college and i need to pass my classes. my mustang is pretty important to me, but i think college and the rest of my life are a little bit hight on my priority ladder. that is why i am going to pay someone to instsall these parts for me. i stiill have all the engine and exaust mods that ill prob be doing my self once this semester is over, but as for suspension, its gonna be someone elses work... i still need to install the subframe connectors and jacking rails... im not a pro welder so i cant do those.... ill put the strut tower brace and the anti- roll bars on my self, and the upper and lower control arms , maybe ill try but il lrpob get someone else to do it for me... by the end of this semseter ill have my suspension complete and then itll be summer, ill be takingless classes so ill have more time to work on my exaust and engine bolt ons... oh well, what can you do
What can I do??? Or what have I done?? I'ts much easier to answer the later. We'll,..I have gathered that your ride is your only ride,..I guess that I can understand. You see,....My Stang is my project,..I have two other vehicles. So yeah I get you,..but back to the question....I have stripped three fox bodies down to NOTHING and built ONE, my 88. It has the inards from a 91GT 5.0, but it's getting alot more,...read about it in "Newby has a Project" in the new members area.
