Question about an oil change
The oil change sticker on my windshield reads 3/24 and 65,000. The date was almost three weeks ago, but I'm 2,000 miles short of the mileage mark at 63,000 and I checked the oil myself and it is very clean and full. Now, should I have gone on 3/24? Wait till I hit 65,000? Wait just a few more weeks? What's your opinion?
Thanks in advance

Here's my take on the subject. My time runs out before the mileage as well. I run Mobil 1 in my car. I always wait until the mileage runs out. Just me though.
I agree with PRO.
I only drive about 300 miles a year (not a typo!) on my 67, but change the oil every 3-6 months.
Oil does need to be changed about every 90 days due to the fact that it does break down and you lose its protective qualities.
I used to think it was a lube shop gimmick to get more $ from us, but in reality, it is the truth!
My personal opinion is that if you run synthetics, the shelf life should be longer, but I really don't know for sure.
Good luck.

I run Synthetic Blend and change it every 3 months only if I'm going to drive the car. I've only put 1,000 miles on my car in the last 3 years though. I usually change it at the beginning of the summer and then again in August or so. Then it sits for 4-6 months. I'd change it. Can never be too careful for $15 and 10 minutes of your time. Do it, just in case is my advise.
