A V-6 mustang, even a supercharged V-6 'stang seems a little too.... ricy? Besides, I dont want to run 11's... I want to run 10's on 10.5" sticky's. I'd much rather have a V-8 under the hood. Besides, Im doing all the work myself. I figured I'd yank a $1000 high milage 302 from a wrecked 95' and rebuild it from the ground up. I'd bore it, drop in new forged pistons, rods and stroker crank (331 or 347), add pocket ported gt40 aluminum heads, 30lb. injectors, BBK intake, a dual stage nitrous kit, 75mm TB and a whole bunch of other crap. I'm looking for around 400 on the motor with a 200 hit of spray.

I never argued that 3.8's can't make enough power. You can make anything fast if you dump enough money into it. I just don't like the idea of dropping 15 Grand on a twin turbo six when i could build a V-8 that's more reliable and makes just as much power for half the price. Hot rodding cars is expensive enough as it is... why dump all that extra cash building up the V-6?

Don't get me wrong, it would be awesome to have a sick TT V6, but i'm sure most people would agree that it's waaay more economical to build up the V8, especially at 400+ HP.

why waste money building just a GT and not a mach? or a cobra? he has the V-6 as is, the easiest thing to do would be to build it up or sell it and buy a GT

its not that bad to change to a 5.0 i used 302 and trany out of a 84 ltd tbi i picked up for $250 and it only had 39000 miles on it and set it in my 98 mustang 3.8 and its not that hard i used 95 mustang motor mounts $69.00 and all i had to do was switched sides the motor sat 1 half inch higher than my freinds 95 mustang picked up a 2 barrow carb at the junk yard $25.00 carb kit $15.00 and the suspention set 1 in higher than with the 3.8 used the front yoke from a 75 ltd junk yard $20.00 to match the drive line universal size and fit the ltd trans fine had a set of shorty headers found laying around at a friends house and used them same exhaust no mufflers used all the sencers from the mustang every thing worked fine except the tach and it runs just as good as my freinds 95 efi and its easyer on fuel gutted the gastank fuel pump and pick up made a new one from piece of copper tubing used a uneversal eletric fuel pump for a carb $39.00 run a wire from the mass air meter + wire to pump togive it power used the distributer and coil from the ltd used the + wire from the coil pack splits perfect for the coil and distributor red run it to the coil + the distributer looks difficult but it isnt look at the modual and the 2nd and third wire from the bottom the + is the red wire AND THE YELLOW GOES to the -- side on coil to fixing the shifting problem your going to find the trans isnt set up for the cable you will have to fab a bracket took me 1hr and the passing gear rod you will have to use it that rod also adjusts the shift bend the rod a little in the middle top toward the windshield and bend the top of the rod and hook up on the carb the tbi is a little different and on the bottom of the rod loosen the adjuster and move it up 1 1/4 inch and test drive it to see how it shifts (the cooling fan will not kick on unless you use the air and thats another problem i didnt finish till i fab a bracket so to use the fan just go get a relay 30amp for lighting system and a aftermarket thermastat control $25.00 and hook strait from batt to relay and jump from the throddle position sencer +wire to the stat to cotrol and the fan and will only work when the switch is on the rest is common sence but need any help contact me and ill try to help you this took 10 days and i worked in the evenings and one weekend after all is said and done may have been luck but i spent around $475.00to $500.00 give or take but if you know allot of gear heads you can do it for just about nothing and you will save on isurance and be able to bragg alittle but people will say your stupid for running a 2 barrow carb but they told me the one i have is a 700cfm and it runs with my buddies 95 gt and has allot more power than 3.8 its not too bad and you wont believe the gas millage hope this helps when i got this idea i was told the same thing dude get a gt will cost more than getting a gt go for it man its worth the ride good luck man

To be different, my man. Of course, it would be a lot cheap and easier to just swap in a v-8 and build it. But it isn't every day that you see a v-6 stang that fast.
