Default never seen this happen before!!!

I have an 86 gt that has sat up for about 2 years while i was in high school and had no money to work on the car. I've been slowley bringing the car back to life, but now i have run into a new dilema. Whenever i turn on the headlights the windshield wipers turn on...wtf is making this happen. anyone ever seen this happen before? is this a sign that i should sell the car and get a new one or somethin????

I think he just means is that a sign there might be a lot of other problems he hasn't found yet. If the body's in good shape and it just has some wiring problems then just get a workshop manual with wiring diagrams and get it straightened out. Shouldn't be too bad, probably just something wired in toghether somewhere.

Wow your so lucky I have had this problem in my 95. Dont think for one moment that they are unrelated BIZNOTCH! Our multi switchs are the exact same thing mofugga! Yes thats right you need to replace your multi switch (Headlights *dim*high* wipers and you may not know this but your emergencies are also operated by this peice. Basicly the problem is that the wires have become bare and are shorting out now. Mine did this exactly so at least you know what it is now. Its about a $60 dollar part. Here is a picture of me holding my broken one.

i went outside, found where the wires all hook up for the wipers. the top right of the hood compartment. there was some pinestraw in there, i took the straw out and must have jiggled something and made it werk. when i get back from school and work i think i'll unhook and rehook all the wiring in that corner and make sure the wires aren't touching anywhere else.
