Default RE: never seen this happen before!!!

Where my wires were damaged was right under where the turn signla shaft connects to the main unit, if you push it over and look in the crevice you can see a few wires down there. Check that area too.

As for the best place to get this part I would buy it new from Ford for the longest results, these signals go out easily sometimes and sometimes they last forever, its just an odd part.

Im glad cleaning some stuff off it helped but double check everything because it may not have remidied itself. When mine was going out it wasnt a solid problem that occured only once and stayed like that. It would go away and come back and usually in the wrost cases like at night when I needed my headlights.

When things got bad for me and they didnt work at all I had to stick a pocket knife back into the wires to close the circuit between the headlight wires. I had to do this for a few weeks untill I could afford the $60 something Ford wanted for a new one, after that it was about 20 minutes installation in my driveway and I was driving happy. I swear I was so happy you would have just thought I put an Paxton Supercharger on my car! LMFAO

Best of luck!

ey NeoTokyo my cars wipers wont turn on with that switch but the high beams will, when i bought the car they told me that to turn on the wipers i had to put 2 cables together in the engine and turn on my head light switch and my fog light switch to for them to turn on so the real wiper switch is useless other than for the high beams. is this sum rong wire conected or i need a new switch? my car was salvaged im pretty sure thas y their messed up
