3 years for me and no hood liner... good as new. Like i said, I would worry more about the sun ruining your paint than the heat off your motor

yea and i dont think my engine is gonna catch on fire any time soon because i dont put it through that much. i also dont think that thing is gonna work too great if it does catch fire. i realize the concept of it but from the cars that i have seen that have caught fire, that thing isnt gonna save it. i think im gonna take mine off.

you cant really tell the difference. i took mine off yesterday. i cant hear any difference in the sound.

just clean it and put it back on!! i took mine off and sprayed/wiped it with armor all. Gave it a dark black clean look and the pony in the middle looks great now!

i think a bare underside hood looks bad. the cover makes it look cleaner, if its not all torn up

plus i dont know about the newer models, but mine has a running horse imprinted on it which adds a nice effect.

i would just clean mine and put it back but it dose have some rips in it. ill proably try it anyway. and yes i know at least the 99-04 do thave the running pony in the middle.
