perfect timing, i came in to post about radar detectors and this was the first post... well yea anyways ive been wanting to get a detector ever since i got pulled over, i feel like they are out to get me now, and i wouldnt say i am much of a speeder in the first place. besides for the 2 detectors previously mentioned any others people would recommend? or would say stay away from?

edit: i looked up a few, and was wondering what they thought about the solo 2, i hate seeing the wire go from the windshield to the outlet, do cordless work just as well? and does anyone think the solo 2 is a good buy

The downside I found with the valentine unit was it gave me too many false alarms.

GO V1!!!!!

I have one, and it has saved my butt so many times it has paid for itself 100 fold. It gives you Laser, K, KA (police band here in SoCal), and anything else that you need. When they were rated by the magazines, the only thing that made the V1 loose points, was that it picked up too many things! I don't know about you, but thats ok in my book. Once you have the it in your car, and use it for a couple days, you get used to the different beeps for the different signals. Also, they make a hard-wire kit for your car, so there aren't any cords hanging into the cigarette lighter. Its so clean and fantastic!!! I can't praise it enough!

Birdie----if you have a V1 and it is giving you the laser reading at full blast, then it might need a new update. Mine did that, and I sent it in, they updated it for me and sent it back ASAP. And I mean ASAP, because they overnighted it back! I was without it for like 1 1/2 days!!

Do the laser jammers really work? Or is it a waste of my time!
