HOW long before oil change

RE: HOW long before oil change
no i hear u..itz just his thing was that the amsoil or redline filter held more of that crap and the 10 micron efficiency was at around 94%...meaning more of the crap is being filtered out and retains more...but i'm going to investigate this more. But im gonna play it safe for now

RE: HOW long before oil change
The one thing youve got to realize about oil filters is that alot of these super fine 10 micron filters have bypass valves to prevent oil starvation if/when the clog up. Because the filter element is so fine, they get clogged rather quickly and so the oil winds up not being filtered at all because it needs to go through the bypass.
Theres no substitute for changing your oil. It will cost you alot of money either in the short run or in the long run to try and skip them

I don't care what "that guy" says, because honestly, hes not the one that pays for it when your car goes "hey, stupid, change my oil... blah" and pukes its guts all over the road. There are people on another forum I have been a member of for a few years that run their oil for a YEAR and up to 25,000 miles only to drain it and send it out to be "analyzed". I can analyze year old, 25,000 mile oil. Its black, dirty, and flows like water. Oil breaks down, it gets dirty, you can only get it hot and cool it off so much. I've heard people say skydiving is safe too, but the truth is, only two things fall from the sky, bird****s and dumb****s. I'll stick to every 3k or LESS.

did you guys even read the article? you'll be surprised at what this guy has to say. He did test on the filters and synthetics and proves the 3,000 mile myth is bull. check it out.

why would you ever go that long without changing oil???? changing the oil gets all the crap that comes loose that would damage the inside of your motor. the more often you change it the better, within reason.

i dunno what the tests were, but sure the oil might be fine, but like kartracer said, it's the particles of grit and dirt and carbon and crap that you want to get rid of when you change the oil.

RE: HOW long before oil change
i realized that but if you look at the specs on the filter he had for example I think it was the redline or amsoil is guarranteed for 12,500 miles. It holds more particles than the average filter which is why it is $10. It also like I said has a better micron efficiently than most and picks up 10 micron material. I do know about the bypass but that would only happen if too much material was caught and clogging. If you were to just touch the oil filter every ounce in a while, if it's cold after a 5 mins or so you know it's being bypassed.
