RE: HOW long before oil change
why would you ever go that long without changing oil???? changing the oil gets all the crap that comes loose that would damage the inside of your motor. the more often you change it the better, within reason.

I don't care what "that guy" says, because honestly, hes not the one that pays for it when your car goes "hey, stupid, change my oil... blah" and pukes its guts all over the road. There are people on another forum I have been a member of for a few years that run their oil for a YEAR and up to 25,000 miles only to drain it and send it out to be "analyzed". I can analyze year old, 25,000 mile oil. Its black, dirty, and flows like water. Oil breaks down, it gets dirty, you can only get it hot and cool it off so much. I've heard people say skydiving is safe too, but the truth is, only two things fall from the sky, bird****s and dumb****s. I'll stick to every 3k or LESS.

RE: HOW long before oil change
Ok, so let me ask you this... how much is a quart of synthetic oil?
We will say 5$ on a good day... So, since I can get Castrol GTX on sale from one place or another for .99 a quart (5X the price), synthetic SHOULD last 15,000 miles compared to standard oils 3,000 miles. Since it doesnt, It makes more sense to me to use a good quality castor oil and keep changing it.
Besides, Oil doesnt just lubricate, it removes microscopic metal fragments, any blowby, and whatever else contaminates your oil. Changing it every 3,000 miles means that this crap is removed every 3,000 miles
