Default Shifter Handles

Was wondering if there was anyhting available for my auto as far as shifer handles? Saw one on the Cuda on HP TV... Like a pistol grip w/ a lever instead of a button... could mount the O/D button on the dash I guess. Anyone know if/where I could pick that handle up?

Thanks,

Sam

Well, no thanks to HP tv I found the shifter, but thanks for the tip. They had a picture of it, but no link or anything. I found it on Jegs. It's a hurse quarter-shifter?

Quarter stick shifter

What transmission do I have in my 98GT (auto)? and would this work for my car? It's a little expensive and i know I really don't need it, but meh, what the heck.

How much would it be for someone to install this? I couldn't do it b/c I need someone to wire it and wire the O/D button to the top button on the shifter. Also, do I need a new cover that they sell, or could I use the stock one?

Sorry for all the questions. I really hope I get an answer.

Sam

Well.. I tried a search on google and found a few different numbers for the model of transmission... nothing that matched the compatibility of the shifter, and I wanted to make sure it was correct, double-check if you will. I also looked in my Hayne's manual and wasn't able to find it. I have the manual on order from Ford.

Just thought if anyone knew the number of model off of the top of their head, it wouldn't be too much trouble to post it. Also, I figured that there might be some people with personal experience with these products. Rather than relying on Jeg's description, someone could let me know if they have any suggestions for me.

Didn't think I was being "lazy" as much as careful before making a large purchase. I am still trying to locate the tranny model #, but I am not great at doing searches.

Oh, and I forgot to thank roundmanracing.... thank you.

I'm trying to gain as much knowledge of my car as I can and thought that this would be a good place to ask as many people here are friendly and supportive. I know that you are as well, vfast, as you've answered some of my posts w/ the utmost courtesy.

Once again, I apologize, thank, and ask all of you,

Sam
