I have a 97 GT vert. I bought it with only 1 key, since then I have bought another key and a key fob from the Ford dealer. My problem is that I can't get the key fob to program. I have tried 2 methods I saw posted: 1. short the RKE connector terminals in the trunk and then press any button on the remote. This had no effect. 2. cycle the ignition 8 times within 10 second and then press any button on the remote. This had no effect.
Currently the power door locks on the door panels will only lock the doors (if the doors are closed and the car is running), but they do not unlock the doors (in any situatiuon). Also, the car is equiped with the theft system piggybacked to the RKE box in the trunk. Any help would be great.
