All I need to know is when you get your pistons vlycut for bigger valves do you have to actually take the pistons out and bring them to the machine shop or can you drive them there and have them flycut without taking them out?
Thanks

Pull them out and have them cut.. even if they could cut them in the block i wouldnt want them too, with all the metal shavings flying in my engine..know what i mean???

Well heres my opinion and way of thinking about it.If you do it right shavings arent a problem and if you take them out you might as well get the new ones that are already flycut.

To do it in the block get a dremel after you have your demensions and you have clayed them to see who what and where you can cut them just have a buddy hold a shop vac over your area and catch any debris.

This also works good for catching old gasket material when doing intake swaps.and antifreeze as well.

milky..as I have told you before use the dremel if your over a 1.90 valve..you might be able to squeeze a 1.94 valve but only after using some silly puddy to check cleance

as I have told you, I don't have the ***** to dremel my own pistons lol
what is involved in taking out the pistoins after the heads are off... Ive got pistons from an 88 that are already flycut I could just swap in.

well you need to pull the engine tear it apart ,then have then pistion put on the rods ,new rings ,then you'll need the cyl honed...so iether put in a set of 1.90 valve heads or BE A MAN and use the dremel*L*

1.9 doesn't have anything to do with lift per say but volume of air let in the chamber.....they will make a hugh differents in flow

I dont know why guys are scared of pulling their motors apart.

Its an engine not brain surgery.LOL

Be a man and yank the motor and put quality parts in it.

I suggest if you do choose to tear her apart get some forged slugs while its apart.Cast pistons suck ***.

And for the record if you take your time and pay attention you have nothing to worry about when flycutting your pistons.
