I meant how much lift and duration can I have with the 1.9 before they they hit pistons... This is my everyday driver so I can't have it apart for more than a day, max two gm... I'm thinking about the dremeling, I dremeled my intake this afternoon and was scared but it turned out fine.

Well then dremeling is your best bet. That tool would be better and more suited for the job.But a dremel is just as good.

Sucks though that you cant have it apart a week or so depending on your ability and the machine shop.

What did you do to your intake port it?What a gasket match?

If you handled this fine then you can do the fly cuts man have faith.Just have a buddy with a shop vac handy catch your debris and shavings. And mask off as possible to keep the risk of crap getting by unseen down.

Wait until you port heads they take forever. How long was you doing your intake? And what did you do?

aLL I did with the intake is open up the throttle body opening a bit, I put a 70 mm on there and the intake was about 65 or so, so I took out the 5mm around..
I was going to port my lower intake to gasket match until I put the gasket up to it and saw it already matched but it was never ported, so I don't know if it came like that or what. Its a TFS track heat.
I just don't have the confidence in the dremmeling yet. How do I know how much I need to relief? The clay will only tell me where I need to, not how much... Is is bad If I put in too big of reliefs?

you just don't want them too deep......with 1.9 valve and a 500 lift you would be ok as long as the duration isn't wild.....just open up them a lilalso going from a steel H/G to a fel pro will add a few .001 for more room

Looks like I'm gonna go with the 1.9's after all. That crower cam you were showin me might be a bit much tho. 512/531 wth dur. of 288/298
Is that too much for the 1.9s?
A little smaller that that have is .496/.512 with dur. of 282/286

Obviosuly I'd like the bigger cam, but is it too much?
Thanks vfast..
